Genders: Today vs. YesterdaySociety has come a long way since the separation of genders. Both male and females were stereotyped to a certain norm. They all had their key roles in society. But today, both genders are branching out beyond the horizon, trying and accomplishing non-gender specific goals that have never been heard of. In the beginning, females were mothers who stayed at home. Their jobs were to raise kids and keep up with the farms. The women had to deal with the burden of having kids, keeping up with them, and turning them into healthy young adults. They also had to do the needy work on the farm. The men in the beginning worked on farms or as soldiers. On the farms they plowed the fields, did lots of heavy lifting and had huge forearms, rugged hands for the wear and tear. The soldiers put their lives on the front end, and had to deal with the idea that they could one day die in battle. Today, men work in offices; they make huge decisions that involve lots of people. Men are business men usually. That is the ideal. Although many are branching out and taking on roles of women. Like male nurses, and some even stay at home to take care of kids and cook. Women today are running for higher positions in the work world. They are managers, they are in the government. Things that were so unheard of back in the day. They are every day taking a step further. One day, we may even have a female president. This is the kind of stuff that makes our world so special. People are willing to try different things and take different approaches. They are willing to do the unknown, and change the world for the better. Women are now believed to be created equally as men. And women have every chance to achieve what men can. They are even soldiers. |
